About Me
A majority of my life was spent growing up in the Sunshine Hills area of Delta, BC, although I have spent parts of my life in my family's village in Methoni, Greece, as well as in New York and Portland. My dad is a structural engineer and my mom is a grade 5 teacher at Cougar Canyon Elementary in the Delta School District. My younger sister is a graduate of Trinity Western University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Science in Math.
I graduated from Seaquam Secondary School in 2005 and immediately pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology through UFV. I then attended UBC and graduated with my Bachelor of Education in 2010. I was hired by Surrey School District during the spring break of 2011. My first class was a group of 21 boys and 7 girls in a seventh grade classroom at Boundary Park Elementary. The following year I taught a multitude of grades and subjects at A.J. McLellan Elementary, including 5th grade, 7th grade Fine Arts, and K Music. Since then I have taught grades 5/6 at Ocean Cliff Elementary, 4/5 at South Meridian Elementary, and a straight 7 at Serpentine Heights Elementary. This year I am very excited to be teaching a 6/7 class at Chantrell Creek Elementary. I am a student once again, doing Graduate Studies through SFU in a program that perfectly matches my passions: Engaging Students Through Inquiry and Technology. |
